There have been a constant debate over the use of synthetic dyes or natural dyes. While natural dyes are known to be more eco-consious, large scale production of such product will make it unsustainable. As they require large amount of ingredients which needs to be farmed, as well as metal salts to fix the colours.
Synthetic dyes on the other hand requires less quantity to dye a large amount of fabric, however the chemicals used in the process are usually harmful resulting in poisoning of the environment and the people working in the industry.
Thus this project aims to research into an alternative form of dyes that could potentially replace synthetic dyes and uses natural ingredients to dye fabrics.
